Northland has year-round, scheduled weekly service to Southeastern Alaska. This region has no land-route link with either the Lower 48 or the rest of Alaska. It rains in Southeast Alaska more than almost anywhere else in North America, and Juneau is one of only two capital cities in the U.S. not accessible by road. Virtually everything comes in by water––a significant amount on Northland barges. We make calls at the ports of Ketchikan, Wrangell, Petersburg, Juneau, Sitka, Metlakatla and Prince of Wales Island. Tugs and barges on this route transit the "Inside Passage", a region of spectacular scenic beauty and prolific wildlife.
