A direct scheduled service is maintained to the port of Anchorage, Alaska’s largest city. The barges of Northland bring countless tons of building materials, vehicles and supplies to support the development of Anchorage and points beyond. Anchorage is also a crucial Northland transshipment point for "bush Alaska". Freight from Anchorage area suppliers is consolidated here for the next leg of its journey to smaller Alaskan ports. The entire Central Alaska region, from Homer to Fairbanks is supplied by our regular weekly voyages, using the resources of the Alaska Railroad and connection via the Prince William Sound port of Whittier to move cargo year round, regardless of conditions, with through service to Anchorage, Fairbanks, the Kenai Peninsula, and all points between.
