Community Service
Northland Community Service
Northland is committed to helping and participating in the communities that we serve. We're very active in sponsorship of the Iditarod Basketball Tournament in Nome, the Golden North Salmon Derby in Southeast Alaska, and the Boys' and Girls' Club of Anchorage, to name a few. In 2004 Northland was a Major Supporter sponsor of the Alaska Federation of Natives Leadership Forum. We're also heavily involved in national charitable organizations like the following:
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
Northland has been committed to helping find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis since the mid 1980’s, when the young daughter of a customer of the company was stricken with the disease. Since then, Northland has been actively involved, both financially and in time commitment by management, in raising funds to help finance research to find a cure.
Multiple Sclerosis Society
Northland has been active in the Multiple Sclerosis Society since the early 1990’s. Two of our employees are living with MS, which spurred our involvement. We are a corporate sponsor of the annual MS dinner/fundraiser. And "Team Northland," comprised of Northland employees and families, participates in the annual MS Walk-A-Thon.
